James JB Melton Bentson September 30 1940 April 29 2018 (age 77)

James “JB” Melton Bentson, age 77 of Vidor, Texas, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2018 in Orange, Texas. A private memorial service to celebrate JB’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 12, 2018 in the home of Sheri Kelly in Deweyville, Texas. Directions to the memorial service may be obtained by calling (337)802-9731. Dorman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. JB was born on September 30, 1940 in Leesville, Louisiana to Audrey Mae Graham Bentsen and Lenard Gordon. He graduated from Pasadena City High School in Pasadena, California and attended college briefly before joining the United States Navy. JB enjoyed the challenges of being able to build and work with his hands. He worked throughout his life as a carpenter and mechanic. JB enjoyed watch NASCAR races and spending time with family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lenard Gordon, Ivar Ben Bensten and Audrey Mae Bentsen and his son James Paul Bentsen. Those left to cherish his memory are his children; Sheri Kelly of Deweyville, TX, Erin Nicole Franco and her husband Elfego of Kerville, TX, Levi Bentsen of Vidor, TX and Melton Bentsen and his wife Jolynn of Phoenix, AZ. Grandchildren; Joshua A. McCain, Matthew Paul McCain, Ashley O’Connell, Stephany Kaziska, Kelly Guarnere, Katie Brown, Kyler Bentsen, Konner Bentsen, Zane Bentsen and Quinn Franco. Seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
