Obituary for Farida Yousry Saleh FARIDA YOUSRY SALEH, of Denton TX, passed away on May 14th at age 78. Farida was born in Cairo, Egypt in 1939 and lived in Egypt until she immigrated to the United States in 1968. She earned her Bachelors and Master’s degrees in Chemistry from the University of Alexandria and her PHD in Environmental Science from University of Texas at Dallas in 1976. In her career Farida worked for the City of Dallas, Texas A&M and University of North Texas. She retired from University of North Texas in 2005 and in December of that year she was designated Professor Emeritus by the UNT Board of Regents for her distinguished service. After retirement she volunteered at the Elm Fork Education Center at UNT. Farida was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be best remembered for her cheerful and joyful demeanor, her adventurous spirit and her infectious sense of humor. She loved to be with family and participated in social clubs in her community while always anticipating and planning her next trip to Las Vegas. She dearly missed her husband Hosny and brothers, Fouad and Farid, who preceded her in death. She filled her days with fond memories, friends and family…and cussing technology. She is survived by her daughters Magda Fox (Michael) and Nagwa Pfingston (Dan) her three grandchildren, Alex and Travis Pfingston and Sam Fox. Visitation and Funeral Services will be held at Flower Mound Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday, May 17th from 6-8 PM. Funeral Services will take place Friday, June 18th at 11:00 AM.
