James Sidney Neidigh 1930 2018

Obituary of James Neidigh James Sidney Neidigh, 87, of State College, died Saturday, May 5, 2018, at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born May 24, 1930, in Ferguson Township, he was the son of the late William Sidney and Sara Catherine Corman Neidigh. On June 2, 1954 he married Jean Bleich, who survives at home. Also surviving are four children, Kathy Stocker and her husband, Gene, of State College, Jeannette Neidigh of Percival, VA, Peggy Tart and her husband, Ron, of Pittsboro, NC, Daniel James Neidigh and his wife, D. Lynn, of Blanchard; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Neidigh and his wife, Dawn and a sister, Elizabeth Engle and her husband, Robert. He proudly served in the United States Navy as a Boatswain’s Mate from 1949 until 1953 during the Korean Conflict. James owned the Colonial Pastry Shops until 1976. One of his most popular products is the famous original grilled sticky. Enjoying an original grilled sticky was a “Penn State tradition” for students and alumni throughout the years. In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial contribution to the Pennsylvania Veterans’ Memorial Trust Fund, www.donate.dmva.pa.gov. Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
