DORTHY I. DAWSON Dorothy I. Dawson, 86, of Piqua, passed away at 9:07 a.m. Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Piqua Manor, under the care of Ohios Hospice of Miami County. She was born September 26, 1931 in Piqua to the late Frank and Etta (Fosnough) Campbell. She married Jack S. Spradlin Sr. in April of 1949, he preceded her in death. She then married G. Dale Dawson in 1985, he also preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Deborah (James) Davis of Covington; a son, Jack “Steve” (Kathy Graves) Spradlin Jr. of Houston; five grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Leroy and Richard Campbell; a sister, Juanita Smith; and one grandchild. Mrs. Dawson was a member of The Piqua Church of the Brethren. She was also a life member of the Piqua VFW, a member of the AMVETS ladies auxiliary, and a member of the Piqua and Covington Fraternal Order of Eagles. She enjoyed a good game of bingo, walking, bird watching, spending time with her grandchildren and socializing. A service to honor her life will begin at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Lutz officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Miami Valley Chapter, 31 W. Whipp Road, Dayton, Ohio 45459.
