Obituary for Eileen Parker (Odom) Eileen Odom “Enie” Parker , 87, of Franklinton went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 26, 2018. Eileen was born on June 1, 1930 to the late Hubert and Ollie Davidson Odom. In addition to her parents, Enie was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Green Parker; and a sister, Dorothy Minton Eileen is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Gale and Myra Parker of Wake Forest, and Larry and Sherry Parker of Franklinton; her daughter, Paula Parker Gerringer of Franklinton; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and her sister, Jean James of Greenville, NC. Enie leaves a legacy with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She was born a depression era farmers daughter in rural Bertie County, and was a widow at age 36 with three young children to raise. She worked hard to keep her household together and always enjoyed her flower garden and home. Eileen was active in the community where she was a member of Franklinton Baptist Church, the Franklinton Women’s Club, and the Franklinton Bridge Club. She dearly loved Franklinton and her many friends. The family will receive friends at 4:00pm on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Franklinton Baptist Church, where funeral services will be held at 5:00pm with the Reverend David Averette officiating.
