Obituary of Katherine Davis Katherine W. Davis, 98, of Rome, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 11, 2018, at Bethany Gardens. She was born in Norwich, CT, on April 1, 1920, the daughter of the late Andrew J. and Mary Byington McGuire. Katherine cherished her role as a homemaker, raising her three children and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She and her late husband loved to go dancing and won many contests in their younger days. She is survived by: two daughters, Dawn Jones of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Kathleen Palinski and her husband Richard of Rome; a son, Paul Davis and his wife Holly Osterhoudt of Blossvale; three grandchildren, Lori Keys of Leavenworth, WA, Matthew Keys of Sandwhich, MA, and their father and stepmother, John and Jackie Keys of Rome, and David (Jessi) Palinski of Myrtle Beach, SC; two great-granddaughters, Cailin Keys and Ava Gibson-Keys; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by: her husband, Stanley Davis; a grandson, Jon Keys; son-in-law, Robert Jones; longtime companion, Clarence Williams; and three sisters, Frances, Mary and Virginia; and three brothers, Daniel, Andrew Jr. and William. Katherine’s family would like to thank the staff at Bethany Gardens, especially those on the 2nd and 5th Floors, for their wonderful care and compassion. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome.
