Norma Irene Gall, age 86 was born on July 6, 1931. She was the wife of the late Nevelle Emerson Gall. After a lengthy illness she passed away at the Waterleaf at Land Park, Assisted Living in Sacramento, California on April 25, 2018 Norma enjoyed jazz and attending concerts and travel, especially cruising. She was an avid seamstress and enjoyed sewing for family and friends. She loved using her hands to make various crafts including macramé’ lawn chairs. She also enjoyed sports, especially Notre Dame Football games. She worked for So-Fine factory in Salem, Massachusetts, where they made clothing, and was a floor lady who taught the employees haw to sew. She also taught at night, sewing classes at the Beverly High School in Beverly, Massachusetts. She had a commitment to excellence and passed that on to her students. After changing her careers she became a draftsperson at Sylvania Lighting in Salem where she made many lifetime friends. She retired in the mid 90’s. Norma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother aunt and friend to all who came in contact with her. She always expressed her opinion and spoke her mind whether you were in agreement or not. Beneath the gruff exterior she had a tender heart especially with young children; they always put a smile on her face. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Gabriel Makkers and Ruth Norris Makkers, all of her brothers and sisters, George (Bud) Makkers, Joseph Makkers, Edna Alleyne, Pauline Harewood, Ada (Marie) Makkers, Vernon Makkers and Janice Clements. She was also preceded in death by her nephew Craig Makkers and grandson Aaron Hannon. She leaves her cherished and beloved children, Linda Joy Turner, of Sacramento, CA, Rhonda Jean Gall of Mitchellville, MD, Glenn St. Aubin Gall and his wife Celia of Sacramento, CA, and her step daughter Martha Hannon of Austell, GA, her grandchildren Malkia Perry, Tasi Gall, Malik Perry and his wife Michelle, step grandchildren, Carl Hannon and his wife Rogina and Michael Hannon, sis great grandchildren, Nadia Miller, Brian Hannon, Brianna Hannon, Tiara Lewis, Tamika Hannon and Kye Hannon, and two Great Great Grandchildren London Miller and Adam Hannon. She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews,a host of great nieces and great nephews and countless friends. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the Zion Baptist Church, 4 Adams Street Extension, Lynn. Burial in North Beverly Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 67 Ocean Street (Rte.1A) Lynn.
