Obituary for Mary A. Russell Mary A. Russell, 90 years of Waterloo, IL, and formerly of Columbia, IL, passed away on May 14, 2018 at Oak Hill Care Center, Waterloo, IL. She was born August 27, 1927, in St. Louis, MO, daughter of the late Jerome and Mary, nee Holtman, FitzGerald. She was married to the late Louis J. Russell. They were married June 1, 1977, in Arnold, MO. He had passed away July 28, 2007. Mary had worked at DePaul Hospital and Faith Hospital, St. Louis, MO, during her nursing career. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Columbia, IL, the Retired Nurse’s Association of Monroe County, and V.F.W. Post 2661 Auxillary, Washington, MO. Surviving are her daughter, Julia Furr of Pensacola, FL; step-son; William (Deborah) Rensing of DeSoto, MO; grandchild, Erin Furr, along with other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jerome FitzGerald. According to her wishes, Mary had donated her remains to the Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, MO. There will be no public services. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to: St. Paul United Church of Christ, 127 N.
