Ailene Gladys Goodwin Mizell, age 90, went to be with her Lord and Saviour, Friday, May 25, 2018 in Tampa, Florida. She was born December 10, 1927 in Johnson County, Tennessee to the late Ronder Hubert Goodwin and Beulah E. Rambo Goodwin. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Byron Butler Mizell also a brother Ronder H. Goodwin Jr., sisters Loraine Snyder, Betty Jo Rhudy and Anna Stout. She worked as a legal secretary… Read More » at the Dean Atchison Law Firm in Washington, DC, and later in civil service at Eglin A.F.B. prior to retiring to become a homemaker. She was an early and long time resident of Poquito Bayou in Okaloosa County, FL. Ailene enjoyed decorating, gardening, traveling and studying history and current events. She was a member of the Doe Valley United Methodist Church, the Augusta Jane Evans Wilson Chapter 2640, United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Princess Hirrihigua Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by her daughter Lunelle Siegel McCallister and her husband David McCallister of Temple Terrace, FL; Three nieces and five nephews and several great nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted on Monday June 4th at 11:00 a.m. at the Shoun Goodwin Cemetery in Mountain City, Tennessee In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Augusta Jane Evans Wilson Chapter 2640, United Daughters of the Confederacy (www.augustajanesudc.org) Words of comfort may be expressed for Ailene’s family by clicking on the “Tribute Wall” link.
