Obituary for Bishop Odie Dale Maness Lubbock- “I have fought a good fight, I Have finished my course, I have kept the faith; 2 Timothy 4:7” God called Pastor Dale Maness home Sunday, April 15, 2018. He was born November 3, 1947 in Blythe, California. He met his wife, Rita, in a little Pentecostal Church in Bloomington, CA at the age of 16. They married at the age of 18, November 15, 1965 in Perris, CA. He was drafted into the military in 1968. He served in the Army, Special Forces Air Cav Division, as a Vietnam Veteran. Their son, Dale Edward was born while he served in Vietnam. They later moved to Lubbock, TX at the age of 27. Soon to own his own steel erection co. He began pastoring at the age of 35. He soon built his own church in 1984, where he was the pastor and founder for over 34 years, now known as World Harvest Christian Center. He was preceded in death by his father, Odie D. Maness, mother, Effie L.Zada Maness, brother, Ellis D. Maness, sisters; Maxine A. Maness, Sandra K. Maness and Betty D. Pope. Surviving him is his wife, Loreita C. Maness, son, Dale Edward Maness, grandson, Jordan Caleb Dale Maness and wife, Amanda Maness and three great grandchildren. Brothers, Glenn D. Maness, Bill D. Maness; sister, Phillis “Darlene” Maness. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, April 19, 2018 in the World Harvest Christian Center 3219 116th Street Lubbock, TX. Burial will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park. Bro.
