Obituary for Alton Wayne Clore Alton Wayne Clore passed away peacefully on April 13, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Alton was born May 27, 1952, in Elkin, N.C., and grew up in Myrtle Beach, where his family moved in the early 1960s. He owned and operated Alton’s Bedding for many years, manufacturing mattresses for hotels along the Grand Strand. An avid saltwater fisherman, Alton also enjoyed fossil hunting on area beaches and sharing his knowledge and collection with others. His greatest pride and joy, however, was his family. Survivors include his wife, Janet Wilson Clore; sons Matthew Wayne Clore and Joseph Larry Clore and wife Shannon; sisters Judy Atkins, Rita Richardson, Brenda Starling and Peggy Andrade and husband Harold; brother Michael Clore; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Roy and Carleen Clore. A Sunrise Service celebrating Alton’s life is planned at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, April 21, at 2nd Avenue Pier in Myrtle Beach. The family requests that memorials be made to the NOAH Program at Ark Animal Hospital, 1011 6th Ave., N., Surfside Beach, SC 29575.
