LARRY K. THOMAS Larry K. Thomas, 72, of Piqua, passed away at 7:07 am Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at the Piqua Manor Nursing Home. He was born September 29, 1945 in Piqua to the late Leroy and Phyllis (Birman) Thomas. He married Emma R. Frasure April 22, 1989 in Lake Elsinore, California and she survives. Other survivors include a son, Keith (Becky) Zell of Englewood; four daughters, Penny (Doug) Hicks of Wapakoneta, Tammy Zell of Centerville, Marie (Charles) Williams of Anna, and Lori (David) Kelsey of Lake Elsinore, California. He was preceded in death by a son, Keith Thomas. Mr. Thomas was a 1963 graduate of Piqua Central High School. He worked as a machinist for Crane Pumps from which he retired after ten years. He was actively involved in the former Piqua chapter of the Loyal Order of Moose. He was a dynamic and wonderful coach for the Piqua Youth Baseball and Softball Association where he coached Little League for 14 years. He was an avid fan of Ohio State Buckeye’s football and enjoyed attending flea markets and reading about United State’s History. A service to honor his life will begin at 6 pm Thursday, April 19, 2018 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 4-6 pm at the funeral home. At Larry’s request please attend wearing your Ohio State attire. Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County, P.O. Box 502 Troy, OH 45373.
