Donald L. Van Orman, 84, of Catawba Island, OH, passed away, Easter Sunday, April 01, 2018, at Liberty Nursing Center of Mansfield, surrounded by his loving family. Don was born on April 30, 1933 in Cleveland, OH, the son of Leslie D. and Florence Rose (Mueller) Van Orman. He was a 1956 graduate of the former Western Reserve University, now known as Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. On June 06, 1953 in Cleveland, OH, he married Carole J. Maresh and she survives. Don worked… Read More » as a registered public accountant. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, OH. Don was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He loved boating and was a collector of antique posters, papers, books and postcards. But most of all he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory are: Loving Wife of 65 years: Carole J. Van Orman; Son: Donald J. (Susan) Van Orman; Daughters: Vicki V. Reiman and Karen V. (Randy) Keller; Grandchildren: Lindsay (Hector) Maglione, Evan Van Orman, Madeline Van Orman, Cody Reiman, Victoria Reiman, Lillian Reiman, Russell Keller and Jessica Keller and Great-Granddaughter: Cali Sage White. Don was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be 10:00am to 11:30am, Saturday, April 07, 2018 at Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton, OH 43452, followed by the funeral service conducted by Reverend Dr. James Lehman at 11:30am. Interment will be in Catawba Island Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church, 207 Adams St., Port Clinton, OH 43452. Online condolences may be shared with the family at
