Nelva R. Mount, age 87, of New Market, was called home to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at her daughter’s residence in Williamsport. Born October 2, 1930 in Ijamsville, she was the daughter of the late Harry Richard and Pearl Elizabeth Boyer Ridgley. She was the wife of James Windsor Mount who died in 2010.

She loved serving her Lord and found great joy in sharing her love with family, friends and everyone she met. She loved to sing and did an incredible amount of volunteer work over the years. She played a vital role in rebuilding Fairview Chapel on Boyers Mill Rd. and served as a second generation trustee, as well as being the worship service coordinator from 1973 until she had to pass the duty to another. Nelva established an annual fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation called Sing for Breath.
Surviving are daughters, Constance J. Pennington of Williamsport, Barbara A. Kegley-Koger of Germantown, Janet E. Martin of Woodbine, Doris M. Molina of New Market and Nancy E. Grossnickle of Hagerstown; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, a sister, Evelyn L. Reynolds of Frederick and many other special people. She was predeceased by brothers, William E., Albert R. and Carlton W. Ridgley.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 3 at Hartzler Funeral Home, 11802 Liberty Rd., Libertytown, with her pastor, Rev. Jerry Cline, officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Monday, April 2.
