Carol DeArmond July 28 1942 April 18 2018

Obituary for Carol DeArmond Our Beloved mother, Carol (Atkins) DeArmond of Evansville, IN, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018. Carol was born July 28, 1942 to the late Robert Atkins and Ruth (Hosmer) Atkins. Carol retired from Private Industry Council in 2006, after 28 years of service. Carol was very compassionate, always putting her family first. She had a strong Christian faith and believed that to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord. She enjoyed genealogy, poetry and had a passion for art. She especially loved all animals and the beauty of nature and she created many beautiful paintings that displayed her appreciation of the two. Carol cherished many special moments with dear friends and family. She had a wonderful sense of humor and her quick wit will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. A section of one of Carol`s favorite poems that depicts encouragement and appreciation for both life and death, serves as a reminder to us all that human beings come and go, but nature is always there. “….The innumerable caravan, which moves to the mysterious realm, where each shall take his chamber in the silent halls of death, Thou go not, like the quarry-slave at night, Scourged to his dungeon, but, sustained and soothed by an unfaltering trust, approach thy grave, like one who wraps the drapery of his couch about him and lies to pleasant dreams” ~William Cullen Bryant She is survived by her daughter, Linda (DeArmond) Montgomery (Mark) of Evansville, IN; sons, Reginald K. DeArmond (Brenda) of Newburgh, IN and Robert “Bob” DeArmond of Evansville, IN; half-sister, Virginia Atkins of Ormond Beach, FL; 5 grandchildren, Shaun Hollander, Candace DeArmond, Ashley DeArmond, Jodi Cook, and Leesa Schlageter; 8 great grandchildren, Landon, Skylar, and Kynzi Hollander, Mason Bost, Ryder Jones, and Isaac, Elijah, and Eliana Cook. She is also survived by her dear cousin, Danny Frye, of Champaign, IL and her lifelong friend, Linda “Big Linda” Carrico, of Evansville, IN. Carol was preceded in death by her parents and great grandson, Presley. Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville, IN 47714. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Tim Garrett officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
