Jay Matthew Matt McDaniel 1958 2018

Obituary for Jay “Matt” McDaniel Jay Matthew “Matt” McDaniel, 60, of Lebanon, IL, born Friday, April 4, 1958 in St. Louis, MO, passed away at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL on Monday, April 9, 2018. Matt ran a Food Truck for 26 years. He started running his truck before they were the ‘in’ thing. He loved cooking for people and he loved most of his customers. He worked hard, many times 15-hour days were the norm for him. His route was in St. Louis in some ‘sketchy’ areas and he saw things that you just could not forget. He was dedicated and loved his wife and daughter and would go to the ends of the world for them. Matt will be missed by his customers for his ‘comfort’ food that he provided to them daily and most of all, by his wife and daughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, James William and Roberta Louise McDaniel, nee Kehner; brothers, William Craig, James Kirk, and Robert Scott McDaniel. Matt is survived by his loving wife, Flo Ellen McDaniel, nee Portz of Lebanon, IL; daughter, Rebecca J. McDaniel of Lebanon, IL; brother, James Douglas (Carol) McDaniel of Elgin, IL; brothers-in-law, Gene (Vicki) Sine, George (Deanna Hardgrave) Portz, Gerald (MariBeth Duncan) Portz; and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Rich Harvest International, 18515 Bucks Creek Lane, Wildwood, MO 63038. Condolences may be extended to the family online at www.schildknechtfh.com.
