Obituary for William Milton “Bill” Barr
William “Bill” Milton Barr was born in Fresno, CA on April 13, 1952, to his parents, Ann and Milton Barr. He left this earth suddenly on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, after surviving multiple health related issues.
Bill was a long time Fresno area native. He graduated from Bullard High School in 1970, then attended University of Utah, and California State University, Fresno. He subsequently pursued a lifelong career in the lumber industry. He met the love of his life, Nancy, while attending their ten year high school reunion. Bill and Nancy married a couple of years later and have remained happily married for 35 years.
Bill loved everything about Fresno, especially its close proximity to his favorite place in the world, Huntington Lake. Bill was the ultimate “man’s man.” He loved to sail, hunt, cook, and spend time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Leslie Wiebe, and Kerry Barr.
He is survived by his wife Nancy; daughters, Emily and Amanda; son in-law Adam; granddaughter Penny; his sister Carolyn; brother-in-law Anthony; his nieces and nephew, Alexandria, Sarah, and Milton; and many wonderful friends and extended family.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Chapel of the Light, Fresno, CA, on Thursday, April 5, 2018, at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
