Mark

Mark Leslie Wellington 2018

“You can easily judge a character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him” – Goethe
Mark Leslie Wellington, beloved father, son, brother, and friend, passed away March 16th at his residence in Clinton, UT. Mark was born April 10, 1962 in Salt Lake County to Gerald and Jeannie Wellington, the oldest of three children. Raised in Bountiful, Mark was an ambitious kid, always hustling, always working, and fiercely independent. But Mark’s greatest gifts to this world were the depth of his loyalty and his huge heart. If you needed a shirt and his last one was on his back… it was yours. The many people who love Mark know those gifts never end.
Mark’s profession and avocation was helping others. He provided many years of service as a paramedic for Roy City Fire Department and then late in life, courageously started college for the first time, finishing with a degree in Nursing from Weber State. He finished his professional career working as a Registered Nurse at Washington Terrace, a position he enjoyed very much because he could make a difference in the lives of those who needed it most.
Mark loved his three children and devoted his life to them. All conversations with Mark invariably steered to his children and he would always express his immense love and pride for them, often through choked up words and teary eyes.
Mark was married to Tawnie Draper and with Tawnie, had a wonderful son Steven. Mark later married Erika Clarisse, with whom he remained friends, and with Erika they had two beautiful daughters, Kyra and Danyella.
Mark was a life-long and proud member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Mark served a mission for the church in the Fresno California mission.
Mark is survived by his children Steven, Kyra, and Danyella, his parents Gerald and Jeannie, sisters Denise (Kelly) Godfrey, DeeDra (Rick) Johnson, aunts and uncles Shirley Walton, Lee and Dawn Roberts, Dick and Connie Reid, nephews Levi Johnson, Devin Godfrey, nieces April Johnson, TayVen Wellington Godfrey, fiancé Janira Castillo and her children Andrea, Jacey, and Alison Rodriguez.
Special thanks to everyone who put a smile on Mark’s face throughout his life. You are appreciated and never forgotten. You made a big impact on his life and for that we are grateful.
