Maria C Maia 2018

Maria C. Maia, age 74, of N. Carpenter St., East Providence, died Saturday at RI Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of Silvestre B. Maia. Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Jose Moniz Couto and Maria DaConceicao (Pacheco).
She worked as a machine operator for the Davol Rubber Company for 30 years.
In addition to her husband of 54 years, she is survived by her daughter Margaret and her husband Joaquim DaSilva of Cumberland, her son Joseph C. and his wife Patricia Maia of Norton, MA, her daughter Elizabeth and her husband Tim Carr of N. Attleboro, 5 grandchildren; Andrew, Amanda, Audrey, Joseph and Julie. She was the sister of Maciel Couto, Fernando Couto, and Jose Maria Couto all of East Providence, Deodato Couto of Fall River and Joao Couto of Providence. She was the sister of the late Manuel Couto and Davide Couto.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 8am from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9am in St. Francis Xavier Church, N. Carpenter St., East Providence. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. CALLING HOURS WILL BE HELD TODAY, MONDAY (3/26) from 5-8pm. Please omit flowers, the family requests that Masses be said in Maria’s memory.
