Obituary of William Kropa
William “Winky” Kropa passed away on Wednesday in Scranton.His wife, the former Lillian Adamitis whom he dearly missed, passed away in December of 2017. The couple was married for 55 years.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late William F. And Minnie Sobol Kropa. He was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and was employed as a Union Sprinkler Fitter in Fire Protection Services prior to his retirement. He was a member of the the sprinklers fitter union local 669 for over 60 years.
William loved fishing and woodworking for rest and relaxation.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be deeply missed.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Tracy at The Gardens of Green Ridge, where she took exceptional care of him while there. Thanks also to The Hospice of the Sacred Heart.
Surviving are his sons William Jr. and wife Jeanne, Lehigh Valley, Steven and wife Jennifer, Archbald, a daughter Karen Zavislak and husband Michael, South Carolina, seven grandchildren: Steven, Samantha, Corrinne, Shayna, Chloe, Brett and Brooke, and sister Myrtle Racibor, S. Abington Township, who was there to visit and keep him company. He was preceded in death by brothers, Gomer and Edward, and a sister Joan Erickson. There will be a blessing service at 9:30 am at the James M. Margotta Funeral Home, 1019 Main St. Peckville, celebrated by Msgr. Patrick Pratico. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Visitation Cemetery, Dickson City. Viewing hours will be held on Sunday from 5 to 7 pm. For directions or online condolences visit, www.margottafuneralhomes.com
