Richard Dick Hawkes 2018

Richard Blair “Dick” Hawkes, 83, of Hanover Township, PA, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018 in Country Meadows.
Born February 27, 1935 in Plattsburgh, NY, he was a son of the late T. Blair and Alma Ahles Hawkes.
He and his wife, Nancy (Coffey) Hawkes, celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on November 23, 2017.
Dick retired in 2011 as principal engineer from Follet Corporation. Previously, he worked as director of research and development for Harris Graphics Corporation. Dick invented thirty patents to his credit.
He was a graduate of Champlain Central High School, Champlain, NY, and received a B.S. in engineering from St. Lawrence University, Canton, NY, where he was in ROTC.
Dick was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed skiing and snowmobiling years ago. He also enjoyed watching the Indy car races and bicycle riding.
Surviving in addition to his wife Nancy are two sons, Richard B. “Rick” Hawkes, Jr., of Morrisonville, NY and Steve Hawkes and his wife Zuzana, of Hanover Township; two daughters, Julie Howard and her husband Alan, of Wyomissing and Rebecca Hawkes, of Bethlehem; and four grandchildren, Ethan and Mia Hawkes, and Aaron and Elizabeth Howard.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family under the direction of the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., Easton. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s New Cemetery. Offer online condolences at
