Jean Nettrouer 2018

Jean Nettrouer passed into the arms of Jesus on March 12, 2018. She was born on a farm near Van Hook, North Dakota to Norwegian immigrants Christian and Christine Myhre on November 22, 1931. She was the middle child in a family of 11 kids.
Mom was proud to be a ‘49er, Van Hook High School class of 1949. She taught in a one room school house for 2 years before setting off for California. There she worked for Southern Cal Bell telephone company as a clerk.
Moving to Newberg in the late… 50’s she met her soon-to-be husband and they married in 1959. They moved to McMinnville in 1962 to be closer to his work.
Many will remember mom here in McMinnville as the Church pianist for the First Assembly of God church and later at McMinnville Christian Center, now Calvary Chapel.
She worked for a time as a teacher’s aide at the old Lafayette School and then later did secretarial work for McMinnville High School and eventually retired from Children’s Services Division in 1994.
Mom was an awesome cook and every meal was an occasion for her to show off her talent.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gordon in 2003, and great-grand child Nathaniel and is survived by her children Anne (Mike) Davis of Torrance, CA, Bruce (Karen) Nettrouer of Happy Valley, Darren (Brenda) Nettrouer, and Jolene (Kelly) Bird, both of McMinnville. She is also survived by 15 grand-children, and 23 great grand-children.
Services to be held at Christian Gospel Assemblies in Newberg, Oregon, on April 14, at 2:00 p.m.
