Betty Jean Myers 2018

Betty Jean Myers, 89 of Cottage Grove, OR passed away March 25, 2018. She was born on May 21, 1928 in San Diego, CA to George B. and Helena R. (Spice) Thayer. Betty Jean graduated from Cottage Grove High School and was a homemaker. She enjoyed canning, knitting, cooking, baking, quilting and was best at crocheting; her specialty was cast iron cooking. Betty served as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for 78 years and was baptized in 1940. She loved to study the bible and was active in ministry. She enjoyed camping, gardening and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Betty married Loren Leonard Myers on April 2, 1948 in Eugene, OR. She is survived by her sons, Dennis Myers and wife Billie; Vern Myers and wife Sandra both of Cottage Grove, OR; sisters, Letha Myers and Charlotte Demmon of Cottage Grove, OR; sister, Evelyn Bender, Eugene, OR; and 3 grandchildren. Betty Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Loren L. Myers (2010). A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2450 S 6th St, Cottage Grove, OR 97424. Inurnment at Brumbaugh Cemetery. Arrangements in the care of Smith Lund Mills Funeral Chapel, Cottage Grove, OR.
