Obituary of William Mason, III
William F. Mason, III, 81, of Red Hook, NY, passed away on Friday March 23, 2018 at his home.
He was born on June 12, 1936 in Bronx, NY and was the son of the late William F. Mason Jr. and May B. (Searles) Mason. Bill married Margaret (Dill) and Marge survives at home in Red Hook.
Bill served 10 years in the National Guard in the Rainbow Division. He retired as Sergeant. Throughout his career, Bill was a machinist. He worked at Tuck Tape in Beacon, NY. After, he owned and operated Mason Label Corp. in Lagrangeville, NY for 30 years. He retired to Florida for 20 years at age 55 after residing in Red Hook, NY and Athens, NY. Bill recently returned from Florida to Red Hook with his wife Marge.
In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his three children, Bill Mason of Greensburg, PA, Carol (Jim) Ransford of Red Hook, NY, and Donna (Steve) Cahenzli of Red Hook, NY; his sister Irene (Chris) Keenan of Clinton Corners, NY; his brother Ed (Joyce) Mason of Arizona; his 6 grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Christ Church in Red Hook, NY on Tuesday March 27, 2018 at 11:00AM. Burial will be private.
Memorial donations may be made in William’s memory to the Red Hook Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 100, Red Hook, NY 12571.
