Obituary of Mary Lloyd
Mary E. Lloyd, 84, of Rome, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Bethany Gardens. She was born in Windsor Heights, WV, on March 23, 1934, the daughter of the late Howard and Georgie Snodgrass Raber.
Mary was a civil servant at Griffiss Air Force Base for several years starting as a Secretary to a Colonel and, through hard work and dedication, she advanced and retired in 1994 as a Communications Project Manager. She also volunteered her time with Bethany Gardens Guild as Secretary/Treasurer for the residents and staff.
She loved to help her family, neighbors, and friends alike. Mary was also a skilled card player. She enjoyed working on puzzles, sewing, needlepoint, and doing cross-stitch. Her house is filled with the things she made. She was very much in love with her little house that she purchased in 1974.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Kelly Kirks Scoville of Inverness, FL; two granddaughters, Darcie (Rogers) Newman, her husband Matthew of Oakhill, VA and their two children, Brooks and Bailey; Britny (Pardee) Griffith, her husband Jeremy of Beverly Hills, FL and their daughter, Olivia; her brother, Howard Raber and his wife, Shirley of Wooster, OH; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mary is preceded in death by her sister, Betty Jean (Raber) Pitrolo. She is also preceded in death by two special friends, Clifford Ellis and Joseph Regan.
Mary was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
At a later date, a Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N.
