Obituary of Alex Walker
Pittsford, NY: surrounded by loved ones on Monday, March 26, 2018, at the age of 97.
Predeceased by his wife of 69 years, Arline. Survived by sons Daniel (Vicki) of Ithaca, NY, Marc (Linda) of Bryson City, NC and Jim (Betsy Stuen) of Bellingham, WA and daughter Suzanne (Marc) Dunkelberg of Dallas, TX: 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Alex was born in Stuttgart, Germany and came to Rochester, NY with his parents Emil and Frieda (Fehrle) when he was 5 years old. A Benjamin Franklin HS Graduate of 1937, he worked for National Tool and Machine after trade school. An Army Veteran of WWII he served in Germany as a light truck driver from 1944 to 1946. Alex was a Tool and Die maker/foreman – until his retirement from Erdle Perforating.
A charter member of Incarnate Word Lutheran Church, He helped plan its construction as Council president, and was active in Choir, Drama Circle and Wellness Centers.
A Memorial Service is pending for April or May.
