Obituary of Mary McKay
Mary Best McKay of Ocean City, NJ formerly of Pennsylvania, passed away on March 23, 2018 surrounded by her family.
Mary was born in Coatesville PA, daughter of Joseph & Ada Best, and was raised by her step-mother Nora Best after the death of her mother.
She graduated from Tredyffrin Eastown High School in 1946. She worked as a bookkeeper and attended Philadelphia School of the Bible at night.
Mary was married to Rev. Robert T. McKay. Together they pastored churches in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. Mary and her husband had served in Senior Ministry at the First Presbyterian Church in Ocean City, NJ and loved and was loved by her church family.
Mary is survived by her children Sharon Danbach (Charles), Vickie Fetterman (John), Scott McKay(Donna), Robin Cuoco (Robert). She also leaves behind ten grandchildren, Michael, David, Jennifer, Benjamin, Megan, Scott, Samuel, Vincent, Steven, and Jacob and 9 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Rev. Robert T. McKay, one sister and three brothers.
Services for Mary will be held, Wednesday March 28, 2018 at 10:00am at The First Presbyterian Church 701 Wesley Ave, Ocean City, NJ 08226. Interment Great Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Malvern PA.
Memorial contributions can be made in Mary’s name to First Presbyterian Church, General Fund, Ocean City, NJ.
