Obituary of Albert Charlton, Sr.
Albert A. Charlton Sr., age 84 of Kresgeville, PA passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, March 22ndat Pleasant Valley Manor in Hamilton Twp., Stroudsburg, PA.
Albert was the loving husband of the late Audrey C. (Beiermeister) Charlton who passed away on December 20, 2015.
He was born in Boonton, NJ on September 12, 1933, son of the late John Albert and Ethel May (Cook) Charlton.
Albert had worked in the family business Harry Charlton Co., Inc. in Boonton, NJ for many years until retiring.
He was a U.S. Army veteran having served our country from August 1956 until October 1961.
Albert was of the Presbyterian faith. He was a member of the F & A M Lodge St. John’s # 1 in Mountain Lakes, NJ and a member of the Maxfield Hose & Engine Company in Boonton, NJ. He served on the Board of Adjustments for the town of Boonton, NJ and was a Alderman in Boonton, NJ.
We have been blessed with the presence of Albert in our lives. He will be deeply missed by his loving daughter: Nancy Heckman and her husband Carl of Kresgeville; his brother: Carl Charlton of Succasunna, NJ; two grandchildren: Allison Heckman of Dallas, TX and Daniel Heckman of Kresgeville and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his Goddaughter: Janice Lade of Randolph, NJ.
A Memorial service will be held at Codey & Mackey Funeral Home in Boonton, NJ on Wednesday, March 28th beginning at 7:00 pm a tribute from fellow firefighter’s from the Boonton Volunteer Fire Department, Maxfield Hose & Engine Co., followed by Rev. Jennifer VanZandt at 7:30 PM and Masonic Services at 8 pm.
Family and friends are welcome to offer condolences from 6 pm until time of service at the funeral home.
Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family at the First Reformed Church Cemetery in Pompton Plains, NJ.
