Obituary of Elmer Estey
MANITOU BEACH – Elmer B. Estey, age 89, of Manitou Beach, passed away on March 23, 2018, at his home surrounded by family.
He was born on September 4, 1928, to Elmer and Delores (Pierce) Estey in Jackson. On June 12, 1963, in Vandercook Lake, Elmer married Carol Ann Stetler and she survives. Elmer worked for Consumers Energy as a Supervisor retiring in 1986. He was a member of North Rome Baptist Church; Jackson and Lenawee Mounted Division Sheriff’s Posse; and was a past member of various horse organizations. Elmer enjoyed horses, dogs, camping, trail rides, vacationing, and boating.
In addition to his wife, Carol, Elmer is survived by two daughters, Sheryl Brown of Jackson and Tami (Lloyd) Lash of Manitou Beach; stepson, Brent Schumacher of Addison; sister-in-law, Shirley Estey of Jackson; eight grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Suzy Fields; son, Elmer Charles Estey; and brother, Clifford Estey.
Visitation for Elmer will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, from 6-8 p.m. and on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Nichols and Rev. Fritz Kruse officiating. Burial will be in Green’s Lakeside Cemetery.
