Obituary of Steve Hobson
Steve Hobson, age 54, of Griggsville, Il. died Tuesday (March 27, 2018) at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
He was born September 4, 1963 in Pittsfield, Il. son of Loraine and Wanda Graham Hobson.
He married Robin Sims on September 2, 2000 in Griggsville, Il. and she survives.
Also surviving is a daughter Mandy Daniels (Cory) of Griggsville, Il.; two godsons, Jack and Casen Shoemaker of Griggsville, Il.; his mother, Wanda Hobson of Valley City, Il.; three sisters Debbie Brawdy (Roger) of Canton, Il., Diana Suhling (Walt) of Griggsville, Il., and Rhonda Elledge and companion Michael Hall of Mexico, Mo.; brothers, Greg Hobson (Darla) of Valley City, Il., Eric Hobson (Elaine) of Griggsville, Il., and Dave Hobson of Valley City, Il.; his buddy, R.D. Brown (Deanna) of Bluffs, Il.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father; a niece, Lacy Elledge; paternal grandparents, Elmer and Laverne Hobson; maternal grandparents, Herbert and Gertrude Graham.
Steve was a 1981 graduate of Griggsville High School. He farmed and raised hogs with his father before working for Herky Webel farms for several years. He then was employed by Griggsville Feed Mill until it closed. He worked for Brian Bradshaw and recently he worked maintenance at Maschhoff’s in Griggsville, Il. He enjoyed camping, boating and loved John Deere tractors. Steve was also an avid baseball Cardinal fan.
A Celebration of Life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday (March 31, 2018) at Griggsville American Legion. A time of food and fellowship will follow the service. In lieu flowers, memorials may be made to Griggsville Fire Department or to Griggsville Public Library both c/o Airsman-Hires Chapel, Box 513, Pittsfield, Il. 62363.
