Dolores L. Kaman 85, of Glen Carbon, Illinois passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
Dolores was born on April 22, 1932 in East St. Louis, Illinois; the daughter of the late Leo and Audrey (Fulford) Grimes. Dolores was a homemaker and mom who was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Glen Carbon. Dolores loved the Arts. She shared her passion for music with her children and enjoyed going to museums and concerts. Dolores enjoyed gardening, traveling and holiday gatherings. During her final years, she spent time with her caregiver and dear friend, Linda Stolitza, doing crossword puzzles and crafting. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and all the special times she shared with her family and friends.
Dolores was survived by and will be missed by her children; Lisa (Dave) Kaman-Ammon of Maryville, Illinois, Brian J. Kaman of Glen Carbon, Illinois, Christina L. Kaman (Stan Zubal) of Edwardsville, Illinois; grandchildren, Susan Ann Kaman, Elizabeth Ann Evans, Breanna L. Blanton, Gabrielle A. Blanton; great-grandchildren, Kassidy Kessler, Josephine I. Willmert; step-granddaughter, Sheri Ammon (Richard Coolbaugh); step-great-grandchild, Conner Coolbaugh.
In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by her husband; George J. Kaman, whom she married on May 17, 1952; son, William Michael Kaman; brother, James L. Grimes.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon. In Celebration of Dolores’s life, funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 155 North Main Street in Glen Carbon with Father Patrick Gibbons officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville. Memorials are suggested to the Lupus Foundation of America.
