Obituary of Mary Ellen Canipe
Mary Ellen Felty Canipe, age 82, of Wytheville, VA passed away Friday, March 23, 2018 after a 5 year battle with Parkinson’s disease. She was born in Wythe County daughter of the late Martin Luther Felty and Bessie Davis Felty. She was preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” Canipe.
Mary Ellen was a loving mother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a member of the Wytheville Presbyterian Church, and was a retiree of the Wytheville Housing Authority. She is survived by her sister, Lois Felty Seagle of Wytheville; son, Greg Canipe (Joanne Gibson) of Wytheville; niece, Melissa Martin Cole, great niece, Chandler Cole, and great great nephew, Wyatt Honeycutt, all of High Point, NC.; numerous cousins also survive.
Funeral service will be held 11 A.M. Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel conducted by The Reverend Brad Simpson, with interment to follow in the Fairview Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 6 to 8 P.M. at Grubb Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Fairview Church Cemetery fund C/O Libby Ingo, 190 E. Pine Street, Wytheville, Va. 24382. Expression of sympathy may be sent to the family at
