Roberta McLean, age 97, of Anchorage passed away on Tuesday March 6, 2018 at Providence Alaska Medical surrounded by family and friends. Roberta is survived by daughter Sherry Gagne and son in law Michael Gagne she also is survived by Nieces, Nephews, and several great Nieces and Nephews all in New Mexico.
Roberta and her husband George McLean moved from New Mexico to Alaska in April of 1969. George passed away in December 1969. Roberta loved Alaska and decided to stay in Anchorage. She worked for Royal Inn and Sheffield Hotel as Executive Housekeeper for many years. She earned the nickname “Momason” there by the Japanese pilots that stayed in the hotel.
Roberta loved music, dancing, and spending time surrounded by family and friends. She was a member of AMVETS Post 2, VFW 1685 and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles 4207. She was an amazing person had wonderful outlook on life and had many very wonderful friends. She will live in our hearts forever.
Arrangements were made by Cremation Society of Alaska. There will be a Celebration of Life Saturday, March 31st @ 6:00 PM held at AMVETS Post 2, 855 E 38th Ave Anchorage, AK. In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation to Adopt-A-Cat be made.
